Jaspersoft is the Business Intelligence suite from Jaspersoft, the company that developed the report generator JasperReport that has been in worldwide usage since 2001. All the reporting features of JasperReport and the multi-dimensional cubes of Mondrian/JPivot can be found in JasperServer. Users have the opportunity to plan their own reports and can choose to receive the document by email or to store the results in a repository directory.
The web interface enables users to create new analyses, to publish new reports, to manage user accounts, their roles as well as their access rights to different repository directories and files. Note: administrators can publish and modify reports directly in iReport, the design application for JasperReport. Jasper suite is clearly orientated towards the end user as it is not technical and enables them to create new adhoc analyses (tables, pivot tables, graphs), via domains, i.e through semantic layers on operational databases (your ERP, business application or CRM etc.) for developing a business lexicon and distancing themselves from technical procedures and SQL. These domains are also created in web mode, platform administration is simplified, even if customisation capabilities remain advanced, particularly for accessing data. Jaspersoft have clearly focused on the usability of the solution for their end users with "web 2.0" ergonomics and great autonomy for creating new reports and new dashboards.
